Vicar

The Revd Dr Richard Frith

01422 352446 | richard.frith@holytrinitystjudes.org.uk

Born and brought up in South Yorkshire, Richard studied English at university, eventually gaining a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He then worked in publishing for several years, before training for ordination at Ripon College Cuddesdon, near Oxford. He served first as Assistant Curate at St Mary Magdalen’s, Oxford, before finally returning to God’s Own County in 2014 to become Vicar of Holy Trinity & St Jude’s. He loves helping people of all ages and backgrounds to learn more about God, and to experience more of him in worship – and especially in the Eucharist, or Holy Communion. As well as being a parish priest, he also teaches people training for ordained ministry at St Hild College, a theological college based at Mirfield. Richard is married to Emma, an embroiderer, and they have one son, Stephen. He is a lifelong Sheffield United fan, but tends to keep this quiet in Halifax!

Assistant Curate

The Revd Michelle Petch

01422 362220 | michelle.petch@holytrinitystjudes.org.uk

Michelle is very much a local Yorkshire lass, having been born and brought up in Brighouse. She gained a BA in Theology and Sociology at university, followed by a postgraduate teacher training course. Her work history is varied, including personal adviser for the Jobcentre, various roles in schools, and more recently as a church children’s worker. She has recently completed a BA in Theology, Ministry and Mission with St Hild College, Mirfield, and subsequently taken up a full time curacy post in the parish of Holy Trinity and St Jude’s. Her particular interests are in nurturing children’s spirituality (she is an accredited Godly Play leader), and in liturgy and worship. She enjoys nothing better than helping adults and children to draw closer to Christ in worship and experience for themselves God’s great love for them. Michelle has been married to Darrin for 25 years, and they have two grown up children, Rebekkah and Asher, and two grandchildren, Reuben and Eden.
